Watch nail and hair health for early warning signs of other health issues

Did you know that sudden changes in your nails or hair can be early warning signals from your body?

For example:

  • Brittle nails and hair loss can signal under active thyroid. It could also be from vitamin deficiency, often vitamin D.
  • Pitted nails can often be psoriasis.
  • Pale nails can signal anemia.
  • Blue nails can be a circulatory problem, or involve a nerve problem.... Reynaud's Disease is an example of one type.

This does not mean every change equals a disease. This is just meant as a reminder to pay attention to your body. Our bodies are amazing gifts and will often let us know if something is wrong.
